Speech Therapy for Children in Ontario Needs to be a Priority. Let's Make it one!
Speech Advocacy for Children is easy as 1-2-3.
Step 1- Join Community
This is important to stay informed of the latest developments. Become aware of the current state of services across the province. Even if you do not complete steps two or three you may be moved to do so in the future. The power of community cannot be underestimated. Collectively we can have a powerful voice.
Step 2- Advocate-Here is how
Download petition and have people from your community sign.
Send a message to your MPP
Send a message to your LHIN
Send a message to your CCAC
Send a message to your Minister of Health
Send a letter to the editor or submit article to local newspaper
Call local talk radio stations to make this a topic of discussion.
3. Share the message with all your communities.
Ontario is a Community of Communities. Bring this message to all your communities and tell them how you are effected. Sharing with your communities have never been easier with email, facebook, twitter etc. We want this message to passed around so we can cover alot of ground. Think about all the people you know:
Service Clubs
Co-workers
Friends
Family
Church Groups
Social Groups
Unions
Anyone on your e-mail list.
Be sure to share with your communities how you are effected and impacted. Request that they help bring the message to their communities. Use your facebook and email list to cover alot of ground fast.
